Last month, my little one and I built our own home. There is nothing better than a good fire at night to put out the long summer days. Whether you enjoy a good s’mores or a glass of wine, the burning wood crack will surely relax you. So I thought, with the weekend of July 4th, I will write step by step how we built it.
Let me first say that there are thousands of ways to build your own home. The statement I will describe below is simply a quick, easy and above all inexpensive way to do it. I wanted an old rustic “cottage look” and felt that it served me the best.
After waiting a few weeks for the mild weather (spring in New England is known to be uncertain), we finally had a window of three days of decent time just fallen on a holiday weekend. And so we spent our Memorial Day weekend in our garden.
It is not always necessary to use bricks and concrete to create a home. Sometimes you can use pieces of metal. All you have to do is lay the leaves in a square and place the slush inside the square. If you wish, you can also use square tiles to form a base around the pit.
